My 3rd piece for the Hero Complex Gallery show Young Guns — My theme 3 Decades of Fearless Fighters.
This time I chose The Crow for my 90s fearless fighter! The crow was an amazing movie, I loved the comic book by james O'Barr and I think the movie was pretty good too, obviously nowhere near as violent or deep as the comic book, but still quite good and Brandon Lee was insanely cool in it. The movie came out when I was about to hit my puberty hard and I was very into the industrial/alternative thing and this one hit right home with me.
I wanted to convey a very violent yet minimalist sense to the poster, I loved the dark and violent yet kind of darkly humorous Eric in the comics, he was thee to kill, nothing more. Obviously the movie tones is down quite a bit, but Brandon Lee was a powerful presence on the screen and I loved every minute of it.
