High Fidelity Alternative Movie Poster
I love this movie, as I do the book, but I watched the movie first so it kind of stuck with me, and felt the need to make another poster for it (my first one you can find elsewhere on my Behance page) but this time I wanted to portray the feeling of the whole story and get Rob in there, I wanted to capture the neurotic, conflicted, crazy personality of the character, the story and the whole movie. I decided to go with Rob listening to music in his apartment because music is his life, man! Anyways, every time he's dealing with whatever in his life he turns to music, whether it be communicate his feelings, sort out what he's going through, communicate something to the audience or even judge another person, music is his tool to connect with the word and people, also his apartment is where his most intimate (and insanely neurotic) moments happen.
I wanted to convey loneliness and the mess Rob has made of his life so I felt an aerial, one-point-perspective of his personal space would help communicate those feelings to the viewer. Also it gave me the chance to go crazy with details, the poster is full of little references, eater eggs and nods to the movie peppered with a few favorite albums of mine. I also went with sort of a cartoonist style since I've been really digging into that field lately studying some of the greats such as Adrian Tomine, Kikuo Johnson, Owen D. Pomery and Ilya Milstein, hopefully their influence can be seen in my work albeit I would never pretend to be even in the vicinity to be even close to their masterful craft.
Anyways, hope you guys like the poster and hopefully give it a like!
